What a great ad! I love it. I'm trying to figure out, though, which of these still exist.
Obviously, SouthPark is long gone. The downtown Charlotte store still stands, albeit not as a Sears.
I'm guessing that the Rock Hill store is the one at the old mall, now demolished, on Cherry Road. Anybody know about the Gastonia and Concord-Kannapolis stores? I'd be willing to bet that these were older downtown stores which were later replaced by Eastridge and Carolina Malls, respectively.
Pat - That's a great ad! I don't think I've sen this type of ad from Sears before, showing multiple stores. It does a nice job of showing the tremendous variety of architecture they had in those days.

ReplyDeleteThe original store in Concord WAS at the Carolina Mall; still is. There was not a Sears in Cabarrus County prior to the opening of Carolina Mall.
